The male bonding

expressed ad nauseum is like an extremely ghetto version of Starsky and Hutch. The plot of Code Breaker, from the summary, was too apparent a ripoff of Windwakers/Windtalkers, with Nicholas Cage.

The only way it gets about a 1/5 from me is if this turns out to be a massive parody and every single character reveals that they are geniuses, causing Draco to suffer an anuerism.

 

Never been a fan of Draco Malfoy, which is why I never read the story when I stumbled on the link in the past.

Will definitely be keeping an eye on this thread.

 

So that means there will be slash in a future book? If so, automatic fail.

I tried to read the first chapter, but couldn't for the following reasons:

1. Draco just isn't interesting enough to be a lead character.
2. The best Einstein!Harry stories have gotten pretty old.
3. The worst Einstein!Harry stories suck.
4. Einstein!Draco sucks even worse than the worst Einstein!Harry.

That was my gut reaction as well, but I recollect a thread discussing Draco's possible achievements (academic achievements, that is). Trouble is - JKR has done a lot to show him as the spoilt rich kid who spent his time bullying others that it is hard to come up a credible anything else. I will try to read through the stuff, but I am not comfortable with a genius!Draco.

 

Draco as a wizarding genius? No. Just no. Draco is a pathetic little piece of shit with no backbone who likes to bully people. Also he's a crap wizard.

The first thought after I had read the summary of the story is how long it will take until DLP population destroy this thread.

A Draco-centric fin with "The male bonding"? I am not going to rate it because I am not going to read it, but I doubt it would make anywhere besides the The Recycling Bin.

 

My interest in redeeming Draco Malfoy? Nil. My interest in reading a Draco-centric story? -10.

Just for the sake of giving it a real chance, I'm leaving the thread up 'til tomorrow. If anyone is interested in actually reading the fic and giving a review (flames are obviously accepted), please do so.

On the other hand, if all we're going to get is a collection of "I'm not getting anywhere near this fic even with a mile-long pole, an armour and a gas mask", then it'll get tossed in the Trash Bin. No need to have that lying about for a week.

In the meantime, if you want to post, bringing new elements to the thread would be hugely appreciated. My boredom reached abysmal depths while reading it -- if it gets any deeper I'll be finding oil.

 

I read like five minutes into it and clicked the X on the corner of the screen, then screamed cause I had like seven other tabs open. That is how much this fails. Its not to say the writing and what not is fail, just that the premise is fail. Does this seem like 'The potter tradition of red" to anyone else? Dah mods and Admins are tricking us.

 

Honestly I liked this story and am still reading the third one. Its quite old you know, but DLP material... Just because you like it doesn't mean it belongs in the library.

 

BTW, the series turns out D/G, in case anyone didn't want to know.
