Amanda actually already did try sacrifice herself to save Harry. Picking up the coin had a 50/50 chance of destroying her soul, but she did it anyways.

Personally I thought it was awesome that Amanda stabbed Maeve.

I was thinking Amaris would of had a chance to redeem herself in Harry's eyes, but she pretty much blew that chance when she helped Maeve.

But before she did that she confessed that she loved both her parents, I didn't know that Fae could love, I thought it was a human emotion...

I prefer to think of it as Harry was the scoot and Amanda was the spy and Maeve was the heavy laughing as he revved up his chain gun. :9

    Scout sucks gigantic monkey balls.

I thought it was brilliant that the apprentice (Amanda) would save the master (Harry).

Its basically a gigantic ring form throughout the Denarian trilogy.

I guess Harry could be a pyro, since he likes fire... but pyros have no trouble killing heavies :9

shouldn't it be "at the same time" ?
was what? :p (the paragraph unexpectedly ends there)
    helps

I can't imagine Meciel saying "oh shit!". If she has to curse I'd imagine she'd use different wording.

Mab felt all right in her conversation with AD & Harry, but there was something off in her talk with Amaris. Though we didn't see any Fae internal dealings in DF canon so it might be spot on.

Amaris is alive after all :( But at least Harry had some graphic revenge.

I can't wait for next installment to see repercussions of last few chapters.

That was brilliant, is it me or is Harry getting slightly softer? in comparison to the last two books.

I loved the look into the diffrences between Mab and Artimas's psch, it was a brilliant way of showing how utterly incapable Mab was of comprehending something like love.

YES! FINALLY! Harry/Amanda lovin' is here. Though I wish the scene were a bit longer... not necessarily a lemon, but maybe a lime.

The whole chapter was good, a nice conclusion. Though why didn't the sword wound kill Amaris straight away? She had chosen Fae, and it was iron.

The Dumbledore scene and the beginning was perhaps a bit long, in that while reading it all one is waiting for is for him to notice Maeve's death, but there was some cool stuff in there. His cloak eating the goblin was funny.

The whole Amaris/Mab thing was good, though I already knew of it before, so I can't say how other people will feel about it. It may feel like a bit of a retcon, I don't know.

Now, if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go read the Harry/Amanda scene again.

Look these lines over Shezza, you'll want to correct them.

Overall I felt the scene with Amanda at the end was a little abrupt and could have used a larger interlude, or perhaps, longer pauses in between (Amanda is conflicted, I'd expect her words to flow with more unease) but I can find no fault with anything, other than, you know, that foursome with Amaris, Amanda and Meciel that... somebody promised us.

Awesome. I had literally tears of joy.

There's very little flaws that I could find, beside the Amaris being alive thing which doesn't make really much sense, unless you consider that Amaris was never completely Fae to begin with.

The interaction with Mab and Amaris was also somewhat odd, but considering how little I know about Fae's and Dresden's verse I won't speculate.

Meciel promised Amanda a night with Harry, but won't she be against a relationship? She is very jealous and doesn't want to share Harry, after all.

Mab was ok, don't worry about her lines.

The sequence when Maeve beat Harry, Amanda stabbed her and Harry killed her - how long was it? Because Dumbedore completely missed it, and he was supposed to be watching the fight as the Fiendfyre dissipated.

Mab indicates Amaris orchestrated the entire fight and its result (Maeve's death), but how could she know Dumbledore would come rescue Harry, how could she know they would be successful, and that she would survive to become the Lady? The fights didn't look like their outcomes were preordained.

I want see the Carpenters' reaction to Knight!Amanda and Harry/Amanda.

I don't think there will be a problem.

I have a question, will Amanda be the Knight from now on? Or was it just one time thing?

Yeah the reactions to the Harry/Amanda would be interesting, but I have a feeling we will not see that. Mainly cause Shezza mentioned in the AN that it will be the only H/A that he's going to write.

Amaris... can't believe that she lived. I so wanted to see her die. She also betrayed him pretty much straight after he told her he'd kill her if she did it again. Manipulated him into this. I feel really gutted that she's alive. I get that you didn't want Harry to be happy and all 'piss on her grave' but having her dead would have been good. He onlt got slap her 3...4 times? Harry really is becoming a pussy, should of at least broken her nose or jabbed his hand into her wound. *sigh* Oh well, dissapointment aside what's next for Harry?

What exactly does Shezza mean by that though? I mean, he can't ignore the conflict, unless the story is going to end in the next 2-3 chapters... Amanda's going to be pining for Harry and if he doesn't respond to her advances, she's obviously going to be distressed. There may not be any more fluff scenes, but Harry just can't forget about his 'apprentice'. She's not going to disappear, I think? Unless Harry plans to fight Voldemort alone.
Pussy? I think he has more things to care about than before, that's it really. Before he was a guerilla - living in the slums of society and killing people in darkness, running from the authorities and warding his apartment to the max. Now he has a purpose (Dumbledore's successor?) and people who worry about him. I guess he's not as vicious anymore, but he would have burnt out if he'd continued that lifestyle. Harry isn't Rambo.

I don't think Harry wanted to hurt Amaris, just show her how he felt when she betrayed him. Besides, he's exhausted, how can you expect Harry to react normally here? Amaris is alive and he's relieved.

Somehow the story makes it seem as if Amaris's wound is still fatal, but has just been frozen. I don't think that's the case, but I was confused reading it the first time through, and it still seems ambiguous.

It froze over, and would be fatal without care is the impression I got. 'Twas fatal without the power of the Winter Lady.

She said that when she was the Lady, so she's still going to die. Maybe even in pain :) "quote some time" for Fae should be rather long time for mortals, but the wound will kill her.

This chapter was full of winsicle.

Amaris's excellent use of a Phoenix Down was extremely well played. I really like the ambiguity Shezza's left in her character. I'm still debating between whether she is an incredibly soulless creature - or a little girl who went along with her mother's schemes to buy time to take her out and release Harry. Something tells me that she's really somewhere in between.

As to Amanda pining away for Harry? I kinda doubt it. Personally, I think she's realized that she will be a distant second to Meciel in people Harry cares about. She's experienced what Meciel feels for Harry and has acknowledged that it dwarfs her own feelings. That said - I love Harry/Amanda and want more scenes of them interacting.

On that note, an omake of Amanda coming home for the summer and announcing to her parents that she's pregnant with Harry's baby has much humor potential.

Looking forward to the Voldemort arc!

I was kind of hoping someone would do an omake of this. What would Charity do to Harry? And how would Harry deal with having a second child? I mean, he should feel pretty stupid about leaving his first child to the whims of its mother, so I'd expect he'd be a little more careful with who he leaves his children with next time.

Somebody said Amaris chose Fae...Where did that happen?!?! I must have missed something again. I thought she was still a changeling.

Some people seem to think that the wound will be fatal in time but that doesn't make much sense. Why can't it be healed? She is a changeling if I remember correctly and when she was at Hogwarts she was using silverware and it simply made her uncomfortable. Are you telling me that the wound can't be healed? Or is she full Fae now and I overestimated Fae. I thought Iron was kinda like acid for them and their magic. Just completely burned through it but can be healed as long as it doesn't kill.
