Is it new thread time? This trailer tells me it's new thread time:

I'm all in for Mission Impossible. I have no idea what's going on and I like it.

Other than the usual Marvel fare, I think the one ones I am stoked for are Dune Part 2 and the Star Trek - depending on what flavour of Star Trek it is.

But check this out for Oscar-bait:

Can't say that the trailer completely wins me over, but nothing in it suggest it will be bad.

They must have paid Ford a fortune for this.

On the other hand, I spied a second of Mickelsen in another villain role. Yes please.

"inspired by" in this instance probably means that the writer did some cocaine, saw the old "did you know" meme, and thought FUCK IT FILM TIME

That film is going to probably bomb at the box office and become a cult hit in years to come: it just sounds like the exact brand of stupid that plays incredibly well with e.g. uni students at a party being slightly drunk and/or high.

I mean, not for nothing- but Margo Martindale, Keri Russell, Ray Liotta (RIP), O’Shea Jackson (Ice Cube’s son), Isiah Whitlock Jr (sheeeeeeeeeeeeit), Alden Ehrenreich, and Tormund from Game of Thrones, and Matthew Rhys is a pretty fun cast. Probably insanely dumb, and I will love every minute of it

The big movie for me its gonna be Dune Part 2. Loved the first one.

As for Indiana Jones, well, I read a supposed spoiler and
it sounded like something some culture war-poisoned film critic chuddario would make up as an example of terrible current movie scripts.
So let's hope it was fake. Cause oof if it's real.

If this is even 80 % as good as the original, it'll be a very worthwhile watch.

Watched Avatar 2. Very satisfied. I paid extra to watch it in the biggest screen I could find with the best equipment available, and it was a good decision.

I would say that it was just as impressive from a technical standpoint, which was expected, but it was also a better overall movie, which was not. Not to say that it's going to be winning any awards, but the sequel had actual characters that I could follow and get invested in. I went in having read reviews complaining about 'teen drama' and about the Spider character so I was prepared for the worst, but it was actually fine on both accounts.

Where the first movie had visuals but lacked plot or good characters, the second has visuals and characters, though still lacking in the plot department.

Well worth the price of admission. Go watch it in the biggest screen you can find.

Makes sense now why they recently released a 4K remaster of the original. I have ordered a copy as it was in HMV's 2 for £24 sale.

Funny how seeing various trailers in IMAX before Avatar 2 has changed this plan.

Oppenheimer and Quantumania are now must-see for me at the cinema.
