Dune part 2, although who knows, they might push it to 2025.

The second seasons of both Rings of Power and House of the Dragon are set for a 2024 release. Those are the three things I'm looking forward to the most.

 

For movies:

Dune Part Two obviously. Really only thing I'm excited for and a must see in Cinema.

For TV:

Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Shogun.

Prolly missing some but are what come to mind.

 

Deadpool 3, and Reacher season 2. Honestly, that might be it, save maybe ST: Lower Decks and Letterkenny, which is ending shortly.

I don't know if it was cutting cable, covid lockdown pushing me back to games, or having a kid taking my viewing time away, but I just don't watch as much as I used to.

 

Yeah, been like this for ages now with me. I just don't watch anywhere near as much as I used too. Keeping up with everything good started feeling like more of an obligation than something I want to do.

I basically cherry pick a few series and movies a year, and watch them. I still keep up with Rick and Morty, the new season of which has genuinely surprised me with its quality.

 

I kinda doubt TRoP will be back for 2024. Likely gonna spend a long time in the editing room given the solid 'B' reception to the first season.

The radroach and yao guai were awesome looking (pour one out for my brotherhood knight that was getting dragged away by one)

The vertibirds looked awesome and worn. Not sure if that's supposed to be the Prydwin or another airship of similar type.

I hope the next trailer has some NCR representation, and god I hope that this story isn't a, "brotherhood of steel swoops in to save the day," story.

I kinda want this to be an anthology story tbh

 

There's also the Boys season 4, which I hope is good. I liked Gen V, but it had a very questionable finale. Aside from that I can't wait for HotD and Dune pt 2.

 

Arcane 2!

House of the Dragon & Rings of Power also pretty fun.

 

Dune 2 is out next week. I don't know about you, but I'm definitely planning on watching that on the big screen. (Though probably stick with 2d over something more fancy... Much easier to get to for me.)

As for other stuff... I came across this review of Madame Web, which is... Harsh. (And funny.)

 

Dune 2 is a perfect movie.

My three thoughts watching this movie:
1. Bald Elvis was amazing. I wasnt sold on him til now, but Austin Butler truly is an incredible actor.
2. Paul Motherfucking Maud’dib Atreides. Took too much spice, became Space Fascist Jesus. Looked fly while he did it.
3. There may be millions of tween-teen boys who are about to make Dune their whole personality for the rest of their lives.

 

I really wanted to watch it this last weekend but one theater chain in the city has a weird policy where it demanded that I buy two tickets (sent them an email about this because it was so strange, not expecting a reply) and the other was sold out on all 2D shows the whole weekend. Next weekend my college classes resume, so I'll have to wait until mid-March to see it.

 

Oh god, I hope not. Could not stand Emo-Paul in the first part.

Dune 2 is a masterpiece of cinematography. Excellent acting. Amazing soundtrack.


That said it’s not a movie you watch to be entertained imo. It leaves you feeling conflicted and in thought imo.

excited for the third one and I can only imagine there are cinema majors and English majors comparing LOTR and Dune for decades.

 

It's a movie about a prophesized messiah who becomes Emperor of the Known Universe. Is that... not enjoyable for you?

Don't be. Dune Messiah is the worst book in the series. The only way to fix that would be to gloss through it and make the bulk of Dune 3 about Children of Dune.
