Good news! The transition to vBulletin 3.6.0 was made smoothly and without problems. We've got a few new features now too including multiquoting, infractions, and more. See this thread for more details on what's new.

It seems the image linking to the original quote is missing (viewpost.gif).

I thinkl the rep power is how powerful the amount of rep you can give

Your reputation power shows how many reputation points you give whenever you add to someone's reputation. Note that Raven, as an admin, has 20 points by default. That means if and when he decides that you made a post so good that he bothers to click on the reputation button, you get 20 reputation points.

In relation, I, in spite of my obvious greatness, only have one reputation point. Notice the difference between 1 (one) and 20 (twenty).

If however, you write some utter tripe (like this is going to be), Raven might decide to give you some negative reputation. You would probably fall below 10 reputation points, as Dranco has done, and would not be able to influence anyone's reputation.

If you click on "User CP" near the top of the screen, you can see how many reputation points you have.

I believe that you start with one rep power, which means that someone must have negative repped you in the past.

No, you start with zero. It's calculated based on how many posts you have, time on forums, reputation, and so on. See the FAQ.

Sorry, my mistake. It said you started with 10 reputation points, and later it says that you need atleast 10 reputation points for your rep to do anything to another, which I took as having more than 0 reputation power. My mistake.

It's a requirement. You must have more than 10 reputation points to have any sway, even if you have enough posts for 50 power points.

There's an FAQ entry on it, as well as a forum topic.

Hmmm... I seem to be having a bit of problem with the reputation thing. I can't find out how many I have. I've looked at the UserCP, and even tried looking at the picture in the FAQ to locate it--but I just don't have it.

Does it normally not show if you received no rep or something?

It's a little box labeled "Latest Reputation Received". Then look all the way to the right of that heading box. Either way, your reputation is 10 (what everyone starts with).
