    Vendo's Challenge

Okay, this is my first time putting up a challenge so please bare with me. I am proposing a Harry!lich story as I have discussed early in the main section of FanFiction Discussion.

    Rules:
    1. Harry must become a lich, whether on purpose, unintentionally, or forced to by circumstance.
    2. Spells can be D&D based, made up, or cannon.
    3. As a lich is inherenty dark(evil), so this story must also be dark!harry.
    4. Necromancy must be in story, as becoming a lich is one of the most advanced spells in necromancy.
    5. Harry must destroy the Ministry and replace it with another type of governing body. (May it be Democracy, Monarchy, Feudalism Etc.)
    6. Deal with Voldemort (join, kill, strike a pact with, rival.)

    ***Optional***
    1. Harry can hate/dislike/not agree with Dumbledore. (or viseversa)
    2. Manipulative Dumbledore
    3. Any combination of friends can hate Harry. (example, Ron and Luna might not hate him but, Hermione and Neville might.)
    4. Harry creates a golem. (of any type flesh, clay, steel etc)

Although my idea might not spawn any stories I'd still like to thank you for reading my ideas.

Doesn't sound all that interesting really. And IMO becoming a lich is not a spell, it is what happens when you use too much necromancy. You would have spend decades as a necromancer, the death magic sucking the life out of your body, before becoming a lich.

I always figured it as a ritual because you have to take your soul out then put it into an object to act as a container.

I understand that lich!harry may not seem that ineresting though...seeing as i've only found two HP stories with liches in it (one is Dakaath).

A Lich story means you'd have to go into overkill with most of the characters, otherwise there isn't much of a point.

I would love to see a well written lich story but the thing is I don't really like Dark!Harry... So it would have to strike a point between dark and evil. That and being a lich would serious limit the amout of none rape booty he could get.

Becoming a Lich involves an intense ritual involving dark arcane necromancy and human sacrifice. A Lich will store his soul in an object, a phylactery if you will, which ties him to Earth.

Harry becoming a pseudo-immortal Lich has its potential, but the guidelines you've given need to be fleshed out. Harry needs a reason to become a Lich, DD and the Order need to be dealt with before so he can do so, and there needs to be a plausible reason for how Harry finds the Lich-creation ritual, none of the 'Hogwarts library/Borgin and Burkes store' bullshit. Also, there needs to be a damn good explanation for any side-effects Harry will have to endure, rotting skin, skeletal appearance and etc.

In summary, like Mordecia said, it doesn't sound that interesting. Take a look at some of Vash's challenges. Try to remodel this one like those.

Forgive poor pitiful Vash's ignorance, but is it not IMPOSSIBLE to Accidentally/Unwillingly become a lich?

It is a willful act as I understand it.

Phylactery being a single horcrux with the entire soul, rather than a single piece of it.

According to my limited knowledge of Liches, they store their soul in a vessel (usually something sturdy) and the body rots away without the soul, resulting in the skeletal appearance. Since the soul is still intact, the body is still animated. It's a lot like a puppet.

And being masters of magic*, isn't it possible to create an illusion of a body? It'd be dispelled if someone touches it, but it's good for general purposes like blending in.

*I theorize that if they're able to get far enough into the arcane arts to become a Lich, they must know a LOT about magic.
