Hi DLP,

Here's an idea I've had: we take a tag that's heavily under utilized at the ffnetz and bomb it with quality works. Boom, just like that an entire pairing is a wholly owned subsidiary of DLP, inc.

If you're interested, the premise will be that you'll have three months to come up with and write a story. I'm thinking of 5-10k here, nothing that should be at all strenuous given the time frame. By all means go longer if you want, but a 6k one-shot is perfect. Then, at the end of the period we will all post our works into ffnet, AO3, etc. at the exact same time, and overnight we'll take over a fandom niche.

At which point the stories can be posted into this thread as well, and I will make an index of all entrees.

You can ship the pairing, you can do a kill-off, you can do an adventure where the other character features heavily. The goal is to have a wide array of quality stories across all genres. The only set piece is the character of the season and (ideally), Harry-centric in the spirit of DLP law #1.

So for spring '16 (due March 15) is [Harry] [Lavender]. Lord knows that poor girl has been in dire straits since 2009 2005, and I figure its best to start with an under-used girl who isn't effectively an OC (Sorry, Demelza).

If you're at all interested, please post in the thread so I can get an idea if this is really a feasible idea. Don't post works yet. Ideally we want at least a dozen people, but the more the merrier.

 

I'm tentatively down for this. Depends on when the Antho#5 drafts are returned as I may have to spend most of January and February reworking my 16k short-story.

Lavender is a ho, and I don't want to devote any amount of attention to her. Padma has potential for exploration, but I think she loses to the other two.

Penelope has the pros of being a hot older girl, while at the same time cuckolding Percy Weasley. I'm all for that.

Alicia is a completely underused character, which is a great shame, since in my mind she's this hot chaser girl that Harry reaaally should be talking a lot more with. Going Alicia also cuckolds a Weasley, but I don't much care about cuckolding the twins, so if I vote Alicia it will be for the potential she presents in exploring her character and the ease with which a fic with her could be written. I mean, they're Quidditch teammates. They share a locker room for heaven's sake. How hard can it be?

Difficult decision. Penelope or Alicia? Ho hum.

 

So, I actually have a lavender/Harry story that I've written in the last 3 months. Well, the first half is harry/lavender but it ends up as Harry/Fleur, because Plot.

I ended up voting for Harry/Alicia, if only because it looks like the most interesting potential pairing that's still not entering parody/meta fic areas.

I can see that Penelope is winning, however. That is fine with me. Cockblocking Percy Weasley is an important task.
