So this is an odd find in the poor quality that is Bleach fanfic. Don't let the SI put you off, Hisana is barely characterised in canon and I've honestly never seen any of this fleshed out so I'm letting it slide. SI mostly comes in with medical knowledge and Bleachish knowledge but that comes with the SI/time travel/ insert mostly bad trope here territory.

The plot focuses around the SI who dies from cancer, is reborn as Hisana, then dies as Hisana and finally ends up in the soul society post dying a second time. From there it gets mostly into surviving in what arguably is a horrible place to live and how the SI brings some stability to the area and how Hisana meets Byakuya (which isn't shown in canon either). Since most of the story takes place before Canon events start and also in Rukongi the normal pitfalls of canon clashes and large changes in canon don't happen for a very long time.

Not Dreaming of sunshine or Catch your breath, but it scratches an itch you didn't know you had.
