What do you mean opposite core? I would agree that a different core would make the wand not work as well, but I don't think it would change the results apart from that.

That would not be definite proof. For one, it being missing means nothing, it could have been lost anywhere for a myriad of reasons they would rather believe than Voldemort's resurrection. Even if they found Cedric's wand in the graveyard, it still means very little because that only proves that Harry was right about the location.

Even if Voldemort and his Deatheaters were careless enough to leave all of the ritual items left as they were it still wouldn't be enough because if Horcruxes have been stricken from the knowledge of most wizards then that ritual that would give someone with a horcrux back their body would be as obscured if not more so and so to the Ministry it would be just some Dark Arts paraphernalia and not proof that Voldemort has returned to his former power.

 

Just along the lines of spell editing... there was something similar in HarryWriter's stories. Editing spells for all of magic. He never finished the series, but it was written prior to OotP. Go to Forome.net and click on HW series at the top to read them.

Only do it if you have a lot of time, since the spell editing part is in the second one. And, um, it's a rather unorthodox fanfic. So yeah. I have nothing else to add to this topic. Toodles!

EDIT: Sincerest apologies for bumping an old topic. It didn't register in my brain that the topic was on the third page until after I posted in it, and the spell edits very strongly reminded me of the story I was referencing. I later noticed the notice(hence the name) that said resurrecting old topics was bad. I apologize and bleed profusely. At least, I'm fairly certain you can do both of those profusely...
