    I don't have much of a list, because I don't really associate DLP with any specific users for the most part. I don't have really have a good handle on the personality of many of the users. What's the real difference between IRC Troll 1 and IRC Troll 2?

    But for me...

    Bio is still the guy who amuses me the most and has done most of the interesting things.
    Tridentwatch was the first crazy troll I can remember - all others pale before him
    Xiph0 has changed a lot over the years. Sure, when he was made an admin-type I was surprised, but he's been pretty good at it. He's become the Midknight replacement in a lot of ways, although he never admitted to having a threesome.
    Raven seemed a distant and mysterious figure when I joined, but now he's just the guy running things. And he actually knows his web programming, which is unusual for web admins these days.

    Um... I suppose I can't really think of anyone else that has an actual personality to speak of. I guess Person X and Person Y, but those guys are just people, not "DLP Figures of Might".

    DLP... is something I stumbled into years ago looking for good Harry Potter fanfiction and has since become more than that. While I'll admit there are some that come to mind more than others when I think of the site (LittleChicago, Santi, Sree, Jon, Raven, Taure, Tehan, Mid, Vash, Xiph, Aekiel, Kalas, Joe, Oz, Shezza, and the list goes on for easily a dozen more), I think of DLP more as a whole than a group of individuals.

    It's often possible to be blunt and disagree about something here without too much animosity or QQing. Different/unpopular viewpoints are accepted and discussed if they can be supported/explained, though don't expect anyone to agree. There's loads of great stuff from humor to real life as well as a few things I'm not into. There's a few jackasses. There's a lot more people who are just cool and don't want to have to mince words 99% of the time on a forum. There's even some folks who are willing to admit when they don't know something and concede a point to someone who does.

    I don't know exactly what DLP is to me. But I do know that it's an online community that I've generally enjoyed being a part of.

    DLP is the place I learned that it's possible to have self-respect online.

    A sad truth. But one more people should learn. I've been spoiled here, and can't stand so many forums filled with stray ellipses and copious emoticons - but on the other hand, it quickly killed any stray impulses to use them in my own posts.

    And sweet Jesus, people use capital letters to begin sentences here! More than anything else, it's a safe haven from the Myspace jibber-jabber of the everyday 'net. Somewhere I can go online without wanting to shoot puppies.
