You could argue that Sylvanas before cata was "morally grey" but she is doing nothing different from silverpine, Gilneas, Hildsbrad or western plaguelands.

The ending will be disapointed to every faction anyways like MOP.

I stand by my theory that BFA's final raid tier is going to be Siege of Stormwind, where we assault a Stormwind Sylvanas has captured, before revealing she was corrupted by the Old Gods back in Wrath, and the Horde and Alliance have to band together to kill her and stop her from exploding the world.

And then the expansion is going to end with the player characters smuggling Alleria into Silvermoon, allegedly to try and find some of Sylvanas old stuff that could shock her back to her senses or something along those lines. Only for Alleria to walk right into the Sunwell and summon the Void Lords, which then leads right into the next expansion.

Naa, I expect Sylvanas will be a Mid Tier Raid boss, something like Gul'dan was in Legion, that is if she is cast as a raid boss. Its kind of a big 'if' at this point.
I expect some old god lair to be the final raid.
If Sylvanas does become raid boss, I expect it to be something like this.
    1st Raid->Sylvanas->Aszhara->Old God.

    Void Lords next expac.

I don't expect there to be more than 2-3 expacs more in Wow.
With them releasing classic, I suspect/hope there might actually be a war4 with an alternative timeline in the works. Or maybe that's just my fanboy side coming up.

My expectation is the raids are gonna be: Uldir -> Naga raid with Azshara as final boss -> N'Zoth final boss raid -> Siege of Stormwind

The Void Lords are very likely going to be next expansion, but it's not a guarantee. There's at least a decent chance that the next expansion will be Light Nazis, then the expansion after that would be the Void Lords one.

When the Void Lords do show up though, it's almost certainly going to be through the Sunwell and thanks to Alleria helping them.

The void told Aleria that Sylvanas is the void greatest enemy. Judge that as you want.

Blizzard also said that Azhara will be BFA Gul Dan.

I cant see how this expansion will end.
    • I dont expect then to repeat MOP but Bliizzard left the option open with Saurfang.
    • Horde Victory. Sylvanas will end the Alliance.
    • Status Quo. Anduin believes that peace is impossible with Silvanas as warchief.
    • Alliance Victory. Dead Sylvanas, restored night elfs possetions but Ashara and the reclamation of southern lordearion.
Edit:first option - Alliance "Moral" Victory

None of the above. Regardless of all other factors, the expansion is going to end with the overall status quo, of both the Alliance and the Horde sitting around glaring at each other, restored to prominence. There's far too much of the game's marketing and mechanics tied up in the faction bullshit for that to ever meaningfully change. It's simply not gonna happen.

Now, with that said, the possibility of a relative peace between the factions (see: WoD and Legion style) is very much up in the air. It largely depends on the specific circumstances of the Old God chicanery that is afoot. If things go as I expect, then there definitely will be, as the Horde turns on Sylvanas and works together with the Alliance to put down Sylvanas before she dooms the world.

But there's no guarantee it'll go that way. It's entirely possible Sylvanas hasn't been corrupted and all of the Il'gynoth/Varimathras/Xal'atath foreshadowing was meaningless distractions. At which point, the likely outcome is a temporary cessation of hostilities while N'Zoth is dealt with, followed by the war ramping right back up and being a running thing throughout the next expansion.

Either way, neither side of the war is going to manage a strategic victory. Blizzard wouldn't be willing to risk their cash cow like that.

Horde turning on his Warchief is basically MOP 2.0, so you agree with the first option XD.

They will not end the faction for sure and the only faction I can see winning BFA is the Alliance because they will not wipe the horde.

Sylv terrifying the Void Lords is pretty self-explanatory given their mission in existence is to consume all life.

By this point in the Legion beta we knew about Nighthold. The fact we're all still in the dark has me thinking they've got something and are trying to surprise us - lump using the Old Gods and Azshara as red herrings.

At this point, if the burning of Teldrassil isn't an inside job, I'll be convinced the writers at Blizz are incompetent - not because I think that's a good idea, but because if the Horde do it, it really will be MoP all over again - just sub Theramore with Teldrassil.

I'm reasonably confident that the burning of Teldrassil is going to turn out to be a Twilight Hammer (<insert Old God patsy here>, really) job, and that fact coming to light is going to be the impetus for an at least temporary peace while both factions work together (or at least not against each other) to murder the fuck out of N'Zoth.

I'm also willing to bet that once N'Zoth is dead, Sylvanas is going to end up using the ensuing lull to launch a surprise attack on Stormwind and capture it (potentially killing Anduin, but Blizzard has been a lot more careful with killing off Alliance leaders, so I'm not convinced that will happen).

This would then serve as the impetus for Saurfang to be all "time for me to pull up my big boy pants and fix this shit", and the Siege of Stormwind raid being a thing.

Keep Sylvanas as Warchief or riot.

The only problem with 'Not Sylvanas' burning down Teldrassil is that I've seen a placeholder cinematic of Sylvanis looking at a burning Teldrassil. Why's she there?

Because she's there and attacking Darkshore?

The quest starts on Tuesday, but from the beta, Sylvanas definitely launched an attack on Darkshore, with the goal being to kill Malfurion and drive the Night Elves (and Alliance in general) off of Kalimdor ASAP, to keep them as far away as she can from the Azurite. The explicit given orders from Sylvanas are to minimize casualties and make a surgical strike to kill Malfurion and thereby break their morale in the opening assault, so they don't have to murder all of Teldrassil.

Then something happens (and we won't know for sure what until at least August) and Teldrassil's on fire.

I'm reasonably confident that that something is "agents of the Twilight's Hammer attack dressed as Horde soldiers and start the place burning".

That would be super cheap tbh.

I'm not necessarily saying I can't see it being the case, but I can see a lot of people being disappointed at the usage of such cheap tropes as the root of the conflict instead of actual reasons such as economic, expansionist or ideological differences.

I don't disagree. It's very lazy writing that very pointedly stays away from trying to examine the issues and implications of their desired "World War" scenario.

But that also means it's substantially more likely than it would otherwise be. Blizzard's never been masters of story-telling, and as a general rule rely on simple tropes as the backbone of their narratives, since all the way back in the Warcraft 1 days.

And I don't see any other scenario fitting with what we know. It neatly explains the discrepancies between what we're shown and what happens, fits smoothly in with the various bits of foreshadowing they slotted in through Legion, and would be a compelling reason for Blizzard to be as cagey as they've been about the whole affair.

I'm not gonna say it's guaranteed to happen; they could just be trying to fake everyone out. I just don't find it particularly likely.

The twilight hammer excuse was already used back on cata to start the war.

The simple explanation: the horde bombarded teldrassil and hited the Alliance azerite cashe and the tree ended in flames.

Blizzard on point with the cinematics. I am honestly curious as to what's in the plans for Jaina. I'd be disappointed if she were simply made a villain. A character with such long history deserves the nuance she's developed over the years.

I want to say that the voice singing is Laura Bailey (Jaina's usual voice actor afaik), as I know she can sing. Is it really or did they get someone else to sing?

It's startling how quickly I abandoned #TeamSylv and bandwagoned #TeamJaina.

I'm truly ruled by my penis.

And that clawed gauntlet on a mage looks so fucking badass on her new model. I hope us clothies can get similar transmog too (I know leather is getting the bamf 3/4 coat).

Btw, am I the only one that struggled to hear the words of the song? Tbf, it was 5am when I heard it and I'll listen again later, but I don't think it scanned well, despite how awesome it looked /felt.

Off topic. Spent 6 hours getting that Lucid Nightmare mount last night. My respect and incredulity at the Secret Finding community knows no bounds...

    But seriously, fuck that maze.
