    Welcome to DLP & Chill.

    The goal of this forum is simple; to consume media as a group and discuss it among ourselves with our fresh perspectives. This was inspired by the Bookclub of 2016–2017.

    Each week a thread will be posted regarding a movie, a book or a television series. To participate you must watch or read the subject material during that week. Jumping into a thread to discuss something you consumed a year ago is a big no-no.

    To start us off in our inaugural week of July 16 — July 22, we will be viewing and discussing the first Harry Potter movie; The Philosophers Stone.

    I am encouraging participation in this endeavor with everyone on the board, so with that in mind I am allowing low-effort posts within this forum as long as they adhere to the subject matter of each thread. I am not encouraging it, but I am going to be lenient in this regard.

    A friendly reminder that Warez talk and Piracy discussion is not allowed on the board.

    I have a suggestion: maybe we could set up some sort of group watching thing? One person gets the movie and then streams it via Twitch or some similar site at a given time. Shouldn't be too difficult to do, and watching movies together is IMO always more fun than going at it alone. We'd have to decide on the time for the stream, admittedly.

    EDIT: just to clarify I wouldn't be the one streaming, as everyone in IRC probably knows my internet is a bit shit.

    EDIT: I've been informed that this is warez. My bad.

    You could still do a session where people arrange to watch the movie separately but at the same time and have a group chat going.

    There are website specifically for this purpose. I used one myself once with a friend to watch a tv shows: https://www.rabb.it/

    It was pretty cool. There's a chat during the movie so that's taken care of as well.

    As long as its not warez and is legal, I don't think it would be an issue. Sorrows suggestion has merit, but I can't ever find time to sit down and watch a movie, I'm always doing something when I am. And chatting isn't it. Usually cooking.

    12am-4am is the only time I get to watch or do anything. I'm pretty much at work the rest of the time minus my 4 hours of sleep.

    Sci-fi has been airing the HP movies all week though.

    Maybe wrong thread. But the new Blizzard announcement made me nostalgic.

    Anyone up for some DLP and Chill WarCraft III play through?

    A level, or three levels a time, or chapter? Or something?
